Newcastle United have officially completed the signing of Aladji Bamba from AS Monaco for a fee that could rise to £34 million. The 20-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract.

Bamba completed his medical on Tyneside before finalising the move and said he was excited by the opportunity to join Newcastle and test himself in the Premier League, describing it as "the biggest league in the world."

Head coach Eddie Howe praised the French midfielder as another exciting young addition with huge potential, believing he will add quality and depth to Newcastle's midfield after impressing in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League last season.
